Marble
Bianco Carrara
The best-known Italian marble in the world: a pearl-white ground crossed by fine, evenly spaced grey veins.

Marble · Italy
A dolomitic marble from a single quarry in the world: cut against the bed, it stripes like the timber it is named after.

The slabs
Ten shades from the same quarry — the only one in the world — photographed in the same setting at the same scale, in the order the producer presents them: whites and beiges first, then the blues, then the Exclusive line. With Palissandro the size is not the variable: every block comes from the same deposit and slabs run to around 255 × 155 cm. What changes is the point in the bed the block came from — and on Fiorito and Reale you can see it, because the two families meet in the same slab.

255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
A luminous white-to-hazel ground crossed by fine pink and brown veins running on the diagonal, with the odd golden glint. It is the reference shade and the most requested: the one people mean when they say Palissandro.
Request this selection: Palissandro Classico
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
Fine horizontal bands of pearl grey, cream and taupe, crossed by a darker, wavy vein with white inclusions. It is the coolest shade of the pale family, halfway between Classico and the blues.
Request this selection: Palissandro Bronzetto
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
The Palissandro that looks most like the timber it is named after: parallel bands of brown, taupe and cream with white threads and the odd dark knot, cut against the bed. It is the warm shade of the pale family, the one that explains the name at a glance.
Request this selection: Palissandro Bronzo Brown
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
A cream-and-taupe ground crossed on the diagonal by a dense weave of flame-like brown veins, with almost translucent passages that recall onyx — hence the name. It is the most animated shade of the pale family.
Request this selection: Palissandro Oniciato
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
A pale sky blue crossed on the diagonal by fine dark-grey veins and the odd golden thread. It is the brightest of the quarry's blues and the calmest: you read the colour before the figure.
Request this selection: Palissandro Bluette
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
The deepest blue in the quarry: a royal blue ground moved by broad cloudings and sand-coloured veins, with a golden glitter of phlogopite when the light rakes across it. The same composition as Bluette, an entirely different depth of colour.
Request this selection: Palissandro Blu Nuvolato
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
A warm sand ground run through with brown veins and, here and there, aquamarine streaks. It is the point in the bed where the pale family and the blue family begin to meet in the same slab.
Request this selection: Palissandro Fiorito
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
The darkest and most striped blue in the quarry: dense horizontal bands of slate blue and grey crossed by continuous white threads. Cut against the bed it is the Palissandro with the sharpest stripe.
Request this selection: Palissandro Blue
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
Wavy brown and cream bands folding back on themselves in a zigzag like a tiger's coat — hence the name. It belongs to the producer's Exclusive line: a very strong figure, for a single statement piece.
Request this selection: Palissandro Tigrato
255 × 155 cm2 cm and 3 cm thick
The point in the bed where white and blue merge: the same slab moves from a blue-grey ground to a cream area marked with brown veins. Exclusive line: every slab differs from the next, and they are chosen one by one.
Request this selection: Palissandro RealePalissandro is quarried in one place in the world, at Crevoladossola in the Val d'Ossola: a dolomitic marble in which dolomite is mixed with phlogopite, tremolite and epidote — which is where its golden glints and shifts of colour come from. It is named after rosewood, because cut against the bed it gives a parallel, continuous stripe like the grain of a trunk. It is the stone of the eight monolithic columns, more than ten metres tall, of the Arco della Pace in Milan. The producer photographs eleven shades in three lines — whites and beiges, blues, Exclusive — and all of them come from the same deposit: what changes is the point in the bed, not the quarry. It is an interior material; outdoors the sources disagree on its frost resistance, so only in sheltered positions.
How the finish changes the stone
Installed
Stone changes with the surface it covers: on a continuous wall the figure reads in full, on a floor you walk across it. These are reference settings.

Reference renderings, not Eurostone supplies: they show the material in place, not a completed project.
