Crazy paving and Palladiana

Natural stone crazy paving

Natural stone

Irregular natural-cleft flags, with the rough face of the quarry and an unworked back. The colour changes from piece to piece, from pearl grey to honey and ochre, with the odd rust-coloured flag. It is the floor of farmyards and country courtyards. The thickness varies, so it is laid on a mortar bed that takes up the difference.
